Someone shot the man in the chest and shoulder about 7 p.m. as he stood outside in the 1400 block of South Millard Avenue, Chicago police said.

A man was shot to death Wednesday in Lawndale on the West Side, according to police.

Someone shot the man in the chest and shoulder about 7 p.m. as he stood outside in the 1400 block of South Millard Avenue, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Mario Sanders.

No one is in custody as area detectives investigate.
