Man fatally shot in West Rogers Park

The man was sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car in the 6000 block of North California Avenue when someone walked up and fired shots, Chicago police said.

Two men were shot, one fatally, early Saturday in Chinatown, police said.

A man was fatally shot while sitting in a parked car in West Rogers Park on the North Side.

The man, 29, was sitting in the passenger seat when someone walked up and fired about 6:50 p.m. in the 6000 block of North California Avenue, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the neck and taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Christian Schroeder. He lived in Ravenswood.

No one was in custody, police said.
