Man fatally shot while driving in Lawndale: police

A 26-year-old man was fatally shot while driving May 29, 2021, in the 3100 block of West Ogden Avenue.

A 26-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday afternoon while driving in Lawndale on the West Side.

Luis Poole was driving east on Ogden Avenue at 2:15 p.m. when he was shot in the face and chest, Chicago police said. The vehicle he was driving came to a rest after striking a light pole in the 3100 block West Ogden Avenue.

Poole was brought to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
