Three carjackings reported in Southwest Side neighborhoods Thursday

Police are searching for three people for a string of carjackings Thursday on the Southwest Side.

In each attack, three males approached someone sitting in a car and pointed a black and silver handgun at them, Chicago police said.

The carjackings happened:

  • In the 4900 block of South Kimbark Avenue;
  • In the 4000 block of South Western Avenue; and
  • In the 4200 block of South Fairfield Avenue.

The suspects were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and were between 13 and 18 years old, according to police.
