Man charged with fatal shooting during fight in West Pullman

A man has been charged with fatally shooting another man during a fight in May in West Pullman on the Far South Side.

Larry Scott, 32, faces one count of first-degree murder in the shooting death of 37-year-old Travis Willis, Chicago police said.

The night of May 1, Willis was standing outside with a group of people in the 11800 block of South Lafayette Avenue when he began arguing with another man, according to police.

The two started fighting and Scott shot Willis once in the head and fled, police said. Willis was transported to Roseland Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Scott was extradited from Minneapolis and taken into custody Wednesday at O’Hare Airport.

He was scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
