A man was shot and critically wounded in an Englewood alley on the South Side Thursday night.

The attack happened around 11:50 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Justine Street, Chicago Police said.

The man, 25, was shot once in his back and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
