A man was taken to a mental evaluation after barricading himself in a West Beverly home Thursday for more than six hours.

A police SWAT team responded around 10:15 a.m. for a man “acting erratically” in the 10100 block of South Washtenaw Avenue, Chicago police said police.

The man, 27, willingly left the home around 5:25 p.m. and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital for a mental evaluation, police said. No injuries were reported.
