Two students were wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon near a high school in Hammond, Indiana.

The shooting happened about 2:25 p.m near Hammond Central High School in the 5900 block of Calumet Ave, Hammond police said.

Two students were shot and transported to an area hospital where their conditions were stabilized, police said.

Students involved in the shooting remain at large, according to police.
