Three people, including a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were wounded in a shooting Saturday afternoon near a back-to-school event in East Garfield Park.
Shortly before 3:30 p.m., they were standing outside a Citgo gas station, at 2959 W. Fulton St., when two people inside a passing vehicle fired shots, Chicago police said.
The shooting happened about a half hour after the scheduled end time of the back-to-school event. As police investigated, a deflated bounce-house and other items could be seen in the grass near the gas station and were blocked off by strands of yellow police tape.
The boy and girl were taken to Rush University Medical Center, where they were listed in good condition, police said. The girl was shot in the calf and ankle and the boy suffered a graze wound to his hip.
A 25-year-old man was shot multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was also listed in good condition, police said.
No one was immediately in custody as police investigate.
