The 10-year-old from Oak Lawn caught and released a 38-incher from the Rhinelander Flowage over the weekend with his dad Frank. And wanted it in the newspaper.

Kids who read newspapers and catch big fish deserve Fish of the Week honors.

FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report each Wednesday in the Sun-Times. An extended version appears here.

Here’s the story from dad Frank,

Hi, my son and I were up on the Rhinelander Flowage over the weekend. He landed his first Musky ( 38 ). As soon as we released it he said we gotta send that picture to the newspaper. I’m keepin my promise. It was a good weekend. Dad (me) got a 43 1/2 OFF THE DOCK.

God bless it, we need more muskie-catching, newspaper-reading 10-year-olds.
