Ben Gordon hosts March Madness party at Bull & Bear

As if you needed another reason to take a long lunch tomorrow, Chicago Bulls guard Ben Gordon will host Bull & Bears March Madness Kick off party, watching the opening-round games at the newish River North sports bar. The event will benefit Ben’s A New Life Foundation.

Topics of conversation if you happen to find some time with him:

— His being named to the all-tournament team when he led Connecticut to a national championship in 2004.

— The 21 points he scored in the title game as the Huskies rolled Georgia Tech for the title.

— His team leading 20.5 points per game for the Bulls this year.

Topics to avoid:

— Why he never passes to his Bulls teammates.

— Why he won’t sign a long-term contract with the team.

— How Emeka Okafor was obviously the best player on that ’04 championship team.

Games start at 11:20, but you might want to get there early and claim one of the bars self-serve table-top beer taps.
