CHICAGO 2011 INAUGURAL COMMITTEE, CHICAGO TOGETHER, LAUNCHES WEBSITE DETAILING INAUGURAL EVENTS

Today, the Chicago 2011 Inaugural Committee, Chicago Together, launched its website detailing the official events of the upcoming inauguration of Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel, Treasurer Stephanie Neely, City Clerk- elect Susana Mendoza and members of the City Council. The inauguration events will be open and accessible to the public, encouraging Chicagoans to come together block by block, ward by ward to celebrate a new chapter in Chicago’s history. The inaugural events will kick off on Saturday, May 14th with a city-wide Day of Service. On Saturday afternoon, the festivities will continue with a family-friendly concert in Grant Park. The swearing-in of the three city-wide elected officials and City Council will take place Monday, May 16th at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. The theme Chicago Together represents the city’s commitment to addressing the challenges we face with common purpose.
