Obama Chicago fund-raiser Wednesday still on his schedule

WASHINGTON–As a Tuesday default deadline looms, President Obama’s week ahead schedule still includes a Wednesday trip to Chicago where he will headline fund-raisers to benefit his 2012 re-election campaign at the Aragon Ballroom

Obama may skip the trip if the stalemate raising the debt ceiling is not resolved. If Obama makes it home, he will not overnight at his Kenwood home. He will return to Washington in the evening.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, asked about the Chicago fund-raisers said earlier this week, “We have made clear that the president has made a lot of adjustments to his schedule because of the need to work on this problem…..And we make those judgments as this process continues.”
