Dominique Morisseau’s emotionally charged play Detroit ’67 explores the civil unrest of the era.
This Friday, dance fans will want to know that the River North Dance Company will kick off their fall program at the Harris Theatre. It’s a wonderful combination of different styles — with River North tapping other company’s choreographers for input to create a number of new programs.
Also Friday, “Detroit ‘67” opens at the Northlight Theatre at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie. This riveting play is set in Motor City in the mid-1960s – incorporating both Motown music and the searing drama created by the urban riots of that period.
The one and only India.arie will be headlining at The Venue at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond — that big night happens this Saturday, November 16th.
