Ice fishing will open at Willow Slough Fish and Wildlife Area on Saturday.

“The Slough,” considered the top spot for panfish in the Chicago area, is just off Route 41, about an hour south. Click here for site info.

Access will be from the front or Filbert Lane (off Patrol Road). Mormon Hill be closed to ice fishermen because of deer hunting through Jan. 5, reopening Jan. 6.
