Back to school: free health fair at Haas Park

In more free back-to-school news, a health fair is being held on Friday, Aug, 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Haas Park, 2402 N. Washtenaw Ave. says Illinois State Rep. Maria A. “Toni” Berrios (D-39th).

Kids can pick up all kinds of free stuff they’ll need for the first day:

  • Backpacks full of school supplies
  • Immunizations, physicals and eye and ear screenings
  • Haircuts (!)

To get a backback, grab a “report card” at the event and fill it out. Families seeking immunizations and physicals must also bring prior records with them to receive those services.

All sponsored by the Neighborhood Recovery Initiative, Youth Advocate Program, Mikva, Alliance of Local Service Organizations and Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.

Questions? Call Rep. Berrios’ office at (773) 736-3939.
