Former Bears superstar Brian Urlacher adjusting to new role as NFL analyst on Fox Sports 1

Former Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher said he misses playing football but is enjoying his new role as an analyst for Fox television.

Appearing in the third quarter of Sunday night’s game on Fox between the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Giants, Urlacher told Fox NFL play-by-play announcer Joe Buck that ‘‘it’s definitely an adjustment’’ after playing 13 seasons in the NFL.

Urlacher will be appearing on ‘‘Fox Football Daily’’ on Fox Sports 1 with host Curt Menefee, good buddy Jay Glazer and fellow analysts Randy Moss and Ronde Barber as part of a star-studded cast.

‘‘I’m having a good time with it. We have a good crew here, with Curt, Jay, Randy, Ronde and myself and some other guys. It’s been fun so far,’’ Urlacher said.

‘‘It’s definitely an adjustment. I’m used to be in training camp this time of year or just doing some football stuff. So this is different. But I’m enjoying it. It’s a different side of football. I love football, so it’s nice to be able to talk about it every day. Not just NFL, but college as well. We have good comaraderie on this show as well. I think any time Jay’s around, it’s going to be fun.’’
