Two people were hurt in a hit-and-run crash that briefly shut down the northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway early Monday.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash that happened near 47th Street about 3:30 a.m., including a semitrailer that caused the accident and then drove off, according to Illinois State Police.

Two people were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with injuries that weren’t thought to be life-threatening, police said.

All inbound lanes of the expressway were briefly shut down but all traffic was moving as of 4:30 a.m.

The driver of the semitrailer had not been located by police as of Monday morning.
