[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrq0wx22F50&w=420&h=315]Four children were among eight people injured Saturday afternoon when two minivans collided on Lake Shore Drive on the South Side.

It happened at 4:25 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the 2600 block of South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Juan Hernandez said.

One person was taken in serious to critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Hernandez said.

Two children were taken to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, one child was taken to the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital and another was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Hernandez said, all in fair to serious condition.

Two adults were taken in fair to serious condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center, and another adult was taken in good condition to Mercy Hospital, Hernandez said.
