Man, 77, found dead in Lake Villa pool

(LAKE VILLA) A 77-year-old man was found dead in his pool Sunday evening in north suburban Lake Villa.

Bertil Sollenskog was found unresponsive in the pool in the 600 block of East Grand Avenue about 5 p.m., acccording to the Lake County Coroner’s office and Lake Villa police.

An autopsy found Sollenskog’s cause of death was asphyxia due to drowning, and he also suffered a small acute myocardial infarction, according to Dr. Thomas Rudd of the Lake County Coroner’s office.

Rudd said Sollenskog likely had a heart attack in the pool and then drowned.

There is no indication of foul play as police investigate.
