Man shot in South Chicago

A man was shot Thursday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 8:15 a.m. in the 2900 block of East 83rd Street, police News Affairs Officer Ana Pacheco said.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the arm and taken to Trinity Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, Pacheco said.

Details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately available.
