Two teens injured in West Englewood drive-by shooting

Two teenage boys were wounded in a drive-by shooting early Saturday in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The boys, ages 16 and 17, were standing outside about 1 a.m. in the 5800 block of South Laflin Street, when a vehicle passed by and someone inside fired shots in their direction, said police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.

The 16-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder and was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Gaines said.

The 17-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to the shoulder and was also listed in good condition at Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, Gaines said.
