A downtown street near Millennium Park will be closed tonight and Wednesday morning for the installation of the Chicago Christmas tree.

The intersection of Michigan Avenue and Washington Street will be closed to northbound traffic from 8:45 p.m. Tuesday until 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Traffic will be detoured from Michigan Avenue to eastbound Monroe Street and northbound on Columbus Street, and then westbound on Randolph Street to Michigan Avenue.

Another option for drivers will be to turn westbound on Madison Avenue and then northbound on State Street and then eastbound on Wacker Drive back to Michigan Avenue.
