74-year-old man fatally struck by vehicle in Montgomery

Police have identified a man who was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday night in west suburban Montgomery.

Thomas J. O’Malley, 74, was trying to cross Montgomery Road at Spencer Street about 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound vehicle, sending him over the vehicle and onto the pavement, according to Montgomery police.

He was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver was cooperative, and Montgomery detectives are investigating the crash.
