A 66-year-old man was seriously hurt in a crash Sunday morning on the Kennedy Expressway on the Northwest Side.

The two-vehicle crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-90 at Montrose Avenue at 8:04 a.m., according to Illinois State Police.

The man was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Saint Francis Hospital, where his condition stabilized, according to Fire Media Affairs. Authorities could not confirm reports he was thrown from a vehicle.

All northbound lanes were temporarily closed after the crash, but have since reopened, police said.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
