Police: Man runs onto I-55, fatally struck by semi in Burr Ridge

A man was fatally struck by a semi Sunday night on I-55 in southwest suburban Burr Ridge, police said.

Battulga Erdene-Ochir, 40, of Chicago, tried to run across the expressway near County Line Road when an inbound truck struck him at 9:49 p.m., according to Illinois State Police and the DuPage County coroner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The coroner’s office did not immediately provide additional information.

The driver of the semi remained at the scene, but no citations or charges have been filed, police said.
