Lane closures on Irving Park Road in northwest suburban Wood Dale are scheduled to begin Monday for intersection reconstruction.

One lane of Illinois Route 19 will be closed in each direction at Wood Dale Road for the first stage of construction, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Once completed, the project will add a right turn lane from eastbound Illinois 19 to northbound Wood Dale Road and double right turn lanes from westbound Illinois 19 to southbound Wood Dale Road, according to the statement.

Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area, according to the statement.
