A squirrel that nosed its way into electrical equipment knocked out power for about 900 customers near Midway on the Southwest Side Sunday morning.

The outage was reported about 8:45 a.m. on the Southwest Side, ComEd spokeswoman Annette Martinez said.

It took crews until about 9:25 a.m. to restore power, Martinez said. Midway Airport was not affected.
