North Riverside man fatally struck by vehicle near home

A North Riverside man died Saturday after he was fatally struck by a vehicle near his home in the western suburb.

Christopher Bakke, 35, was hit by the vehicle in the 8500 block of West Cermak Road, where he also lives, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 1:24 a.m. Saturday, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Wednesday found that he died of multiple injuries and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.

North Riverside police could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday evening.
