A person was hospitalized after falling onto the Blue Line tracks Monday afternoon on the Near West Side.
The person fell onto the northbound tracks at the UIC-Halsted station at 430 S. Halsted, according to CTA spokesman Jeff Tolman.
Track power was turned off and the Chicago Fire Department removed the person, Tolman said.
The person suffered trauma and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, according to Fire Media Affairs. Their gender and age were not immediately available.
Blue Line trains were delayed for about 30 minutes, but were on the move again as of 2 p.m. Some may experience residual delays.
