Two lanes of North Lake Shore Drive will be closed during the day Wednesday and Thursday for survey work, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Two lanes will be closed from Grand to LaSalle between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to the statement from CDOT.

Work will begin in the northbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive, then flip to the southbound lanes, according to the statement. A minimum of two lanes in either direction will remain open at all times, and all on- and off-ramps will remain open.

The closures are for survey work to be conducted ahead of a resurfacing project that will begin in mid-September from Grand to North, according to CDOT. That project will be conducted mainly during overnight hours.
