An elderly man in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease who was reported missing from south suburban Park Forest Sunday morning has been found safe.

Chester E. Hardin, 76, had last been seen at 11:15 a.m. in Park Forest, according to an alert from Illinois State Police.

Hardin was located as he was returning from the Michigan/Indiana border, state police announced about 11 p.m.

No other details were released.
