Man dies after crashing into light pole in Brainerd

He was driving in the 9400 block of South Halsted Street when he lost control of his vehicle.

A man was killed when he crashed his car into a light pole in Brainerd on the South Side Wednesday morning.

The 54-year-old man was driving in the 9400 block of South Halsted Street when he lost control and struck a light pole, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Gregory Washington

An autopsy found he died of multiple injuries from the crash and ruled his death accidental, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
