A man was shot during a robbery Thursday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

About 7:45 p.m., the 28-year-old was shot in the back as someone tried to rob him in the 1300 block of West 51st Street, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to a hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

No one was in custody as Area North detectives investigated the shooting.
