Biden to headline Durbin fundraiser Nov. 25 in Chicago

WASHINGTON–Vice President Joe Biden hits Chicago on Nov. 25 to headline a fundraiser for Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) who is up for re-election in 2014.

Save the date notes are out for the lunch with Biden downtown to benefit the Durbin Senate Victory Fund and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Here is the pricing and the perks for the event:

CHAIR: $37,600 (per person, clutch reception, photo, and one ticket to the Lunch)

SPONSOR: $25,000 (write or raise; photo, and one ticket to the Lunch)

FRIEND: $10,000 (per person, preferred seating and one ticket to the Lunch)

GUEST: $2,500 (per person, and one ticket to the Lunch)

Here is how the split will work, according to the invitation:

The first $5,200 of each contribution from a person will be allocated to the Friends of Dick Durbin Committee.

The first $2,600 of a person’s contribution will be considered designated for the primary election; the second $2,600 will be considered designated for the general election. The next $32,400 of each contribution from a person

will be allocated to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Inc.

Meanwhile, a March primary may be shaping up on the GOP side. Former Army Ranger Doug Truax of Downers Grover, a co-owner and managing partner of Oak Brook-based Veritas Risk Services, a strategic risk consulting firm is running. State Sen. Jim Oberweis, R-Sugar Grove is mulling a bid.
