A 21-year-old man who was shot to death Saturday evening in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood has been identified.

Roy Bergman was sitting in a vehicle parked in the 6600 block of South Champlain when a black SUV pulled up and someone inside opened fire about 7:15 p.m., hitting him multiple times, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Bergman, of the 12600 block of South Eggleston, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:55 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

Police said the shooting was thought to be gang-related.
