Man shot in jaw in Englewood

A man was shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side Sunday morning.

Officers at St. Bernard Hospital on an unrelated call reported hearing shots fired in the area about 6:38 a.m., according to Chicago Police. A short time after, a sedan arrived at the hospital with a 23-year-old man inside who suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting was believed to have happened in the 6400 block of South Wells, police said.

The 23-year-old was shot in the jaw and face and later transferred to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
