A man was shot and seriously wounded Thursday afternoon in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.

The 30-year-old got into an argument about 4 p.m. in the lot of a gas station in the 8300 block of South Cottage Grove when shots were fired, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and groin and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said.
