A 56-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while jogging Tuesday morning in the Norwood Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

A vehicle was heading west in the 6300 block of West Devon at 7:05 a.m when the vehicle in front of it swerved and the first vehicle struck the jogger, according to Chicago Police.

Cynthia Tatman was jogging east in the westbound lanes of traffic when she was hit, police said. She was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was pronounced dead at 7:39 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She lived in the 5800 block of North Navarre Avenue.

The driver was not charged or cited, police said.
