A pedestrian was seriously injured and a Chicago Police officer was hurt in a Fernwood neighborhood traffic crash Saturday night on the Far South Side.

The crash happened about 8 p.m. in the 10100 block of South Wentworth and involved a squad car, police said.

The pedestrian, a 50-year-old man, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said. The officer was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park in good condition.
