Chicago Police said what were thought to be gunshots fired at a Chicago Police squad car Monday afternoon while it was driving on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side were determined to be road debris.

The squad car’s front windshield was struck about noon while it was traveling southbound on I-90/94 near 63rd Street, according to Illinois State Police.

No one was injured, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

State police also said there were no shots fired.
