Football playoff preview: New Trier at Stevenson

Top-seeded Stevenson (11-0) will play host to fourth-seeded New Trier (10-1) at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the quarterfinal round of the Class 8A football playoffs. Here’s what you should look forward to this weekend:

Nick Dillon, defensive lineman, sr. — At 6-foot-2 and 275 pounds, the Eastern Michigan commit is a disrupter at the line of scrimmage. In Saturday’s 24-21 win over Loyola, he made two significant plays. His sack on third down in the second quarter led to the Patriots taking a 17-0 lead. Dillon later tackled Loyola senior quarterback Aidan Walsh for no gain on third down, eventually forcing a turnover on downs with Stevenson ahead 24-21.
