Still time to sign up for the Santa Hustle

Here’s a race for those of you who like to put on a costume to run.

The sixth annual Santa Hustle Chicago 5k steps off at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Soldier Field (it ends there, too). Actually, it’s a run and a walk, so the Hustle’s a good event for the whole family. Every participant gets a Santa hat, beard (well, of course) a dri-fit Santa sweatshirt.

There will be holiday decorations along the route, and Christmas music will be playing. Christmas cookies and candies will be there for the taking along the course.

And there’s a post-race celebration at Navy Pier. Fun, fun, fun.

There’s a way to participate and raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Find out more here. You also can bring a new, unwrapped toy and drop it off at the Santa Hustle Toys for Tots.

The fee is $50. To register and find out more, go here.

I always say you have to find outdoor fun in Chicago to make the cold weather bearable. This sure fits the bill.
