After taking a 28–0 loss to Lincoln-Way West in the first round of the Class 6A state playoffs, Morgan Park coach Terry Atkins wanted to get back to the basics.

“We got away from the run,” Atkins said. “It was a huge success for us all year, but we got caught up in the flow of the game a little too much and didn’t run the ball like we should have.”
