The former state senator is persistent.

Meeks, whom Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner appointed to his transition team on Thursday, has a passion for education.

And that passion has not diminished through broken promises and bitter disappointments.

Frankly, Meeks’ advocacy around education is a good example of what it means to keep the faith.
