The fifth time was not a charm for Joliet Catholic.

The Hilltoppers’ season ended Saturday when they dropped a 27-13 decision to Montini in the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs at ATI Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium.

That marked JCA’s fifth playoff ouster at the hands of Montini in the past six years, including state championship games in 2009 and 2011.
