Two men shot in South Chicago

Two men were injured in a shooting Friday afternoon in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The victims, 20 and 36, were walking in an alley in the 8900 block of South Exchange about 12:45 p.m. when a dark-colored SUV drove up and someone got out of it and fired at them, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

The shooter then got back into the SUV, which drove away.

The 20-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the lower back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, Sedevic said. The 36-year-old was shot in the right thigh and was also taken to Christ, where his condition had stabilized.
