SHARE Robby Nardini joins 1,000-point club as Vernon Hills holds off Grayslake Central

GRAYSLAKE — Vernon Hills shot the ball so well during the opening eight minutes of its 62-50 nonconference victory over Grayslake Central Friday, it almost didn’t miss.

The Cougars (8-1) made nine of their 11 shot attempts in the first quarter — including six of eight three-point tries — as senior guard Robby Nardini surpassed the 1,000-point milestone for his career in the process.
