New Trier trounces Niles North

New Trier picked up its first win of the season Thursday, routing Niles North, 52-0, on the road.

After two big losses to Schaumburg and Warren, respectively, New Trier’s win should assuage some concerns moving forward. The Trevians scored 20 points in their season-opener but only six against Warren, so the offensive outburst vs. Niles North will be welcomed as the season heats up.

Niles North, meanwhile, has seen its offensive output fall over its first three games. In the season-opener vs. Amundsen, the Vikings won, 54-0. In a close 41-35 loss to Niles West the following week, Niles North still managed a fair showing on offense. Yet, vs. New Trier, moving the football downfield was an arduous task.

Both teams sit at 1-2 entering intriguing Week 4 match-ups. New Trier will host Deerfield Sept. 20, while Niles North will travel to Glenbrook South that same night.
