In front of a homecoming crowd, St. Charles North (2-2, 1-1) bounced back in a big way from a devastating overtime loss to crosstown rival St. Charles East last week for Upstate Eight River win.

TURNING POINT

The game was never in doubt as the North Stars scored the first four times they had the ball. North led 35-0 at the half.

THE STAR

Senior running back Evan Kurtz rushed for 100 yards and four touchdowns for North. He has 11 touchdowns this season.

BY THE NUMBERS

North outgained the Maroons 405-34 in total yards. It was a balanced attack for the North Stars with 262 yards on the ground and 143 through the air. Quarterback Erik Miller completed 9 of 12 passes for 137 yards. North linebacker Reece Conroyd made school history when he recorded his 259th career tackle early in the second half to become the school’s all-time leader.
